Rallies

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth - Ecclesiastes 12:1

What are Rallies?

The Crescent operates an extensive youth programme. About 200 children and young people pass through Crescent youth works each week, in various parts of Belfast. We are part of a world–wide church–based organization called “rallies”. Crescent Rallies meet on a Friday night and are divided into the following age groups:

Sparrows for ages 4-6 from 6:30 – 7:45pm

Juniors for ages 7-11 (P3-P7) from 7:00 – 8:30pm

Seniors for ages 12-17 (Y8 – 14) from 8:00 – 10:00pm

What do we get up to?

Every Boys Rally (EBR) and Every Girls Rally (EGR) are uniformed organisations based on Christian principles.  We seek to cater for the physical, educational, social and spiritual needs of the young people. The word ‘every’ is important: our rallies are open to everyone irrespective of background, religion or ability. A typical night will be differentiated according to the age of its members and will include sports and team games; an informal educational session and an epilogue on real–life issues based on the teaching of the Bible.

There will also be special events, outings and trips - again appropriate to the age, abilities and interests of the young people. Junior rallies have a residential weekend in Spring / Summer, while Senior Rallies join together for the highlight of the year – Summer Camp in July. In addition, Senior EBR has a keen focus on outdoor activities with monthly outings, wild camping / bivying and a Ski Trip every other year.

If you are interested in enrolling your son / daughter in Rally, please contact the Church Office for full details.  Also check out the Rally website: www.ralliesni.com
